When Does It Become Too Late?

I've been thinking a lot lately about the phrase, "It's all about timing". I can't seem to go more than 10 minutes without checking the clock--- but I constantly seem to be running late for things. More often than not I am late for my classes. Sometimes I am late to work. Yet, sometimes it's too late for far more important things.

Have you ever wanted something real badly? Maybe you pursued it. Maybe it got away. Maybe you thought you could learn to live with it and you were beginning to move on. Then, out of no where-- it's there again-- beckoning you. But now it's just a fraction of a second too late.

Sometimes a fraction of a second can change your life. Maybe a split decision keeps you from getting killed in a car wreck or saves you from some other terrible fate. But what happens when that fraction of a second stands between you and what you know to be true happiness? It is never too late in the movies. Just when you think that there is no way the characters can possibly be together--- he swoops in and sweeps her off her feet.

My life isn't like the movies. It's just a fraction too late. That fraction has cost me my happy ending.... For now at least.
